I am a big fan of Pete Doherty, not him as a person, but as an artist, poet and songwriter. when I heard there was a show on with his art, and writings, I knew I had to go. The work ranged from sculptural installations to poetry, prints and pros. it was very interesting to see the range of mediums used. his work operated fluidly across these mediums, almost in a Bauhaus type manor. I am a strong advocate of working across disciplines, so to see it so clearly in Doherty's work was inspiring. i especially enjoyed his writings. they seemed to be very real and unfiltered from his mind to pen, to paper. Spontaneous musings that sprawled onto the page, like a stream of consciousness.

this authenticity was evident throughout the exhibition. having an edge of realness to one's work is something that I strive to achieve. I'm glad I was able to see this first hand at this show.
